Ostrich boas have a marabou center with different layers of Ostrich depending on the thickness of the boas. One ply Ostrich boas are 2 yards (6 ft) long, and approx 9" in diameter. The one ply has one layer of Ostrich wing feathers sewn into the marabou (soft Turkey feathers).
The stencilled Ostrich feathers sewn into the boa is a unique dyeing process that originated in Paris and makes this boa a very unique item.
Ostrich boas can be cut without unraveling as feathers are sewn onto a cotton cord.
