The coque boas are 2 yards (6 ft) long, and approx 8-10" in diameter. This natural boa is made from iridescent bronze coque feathers located on the tail of the Rooster. Coque feathers are more rounded at the top and wider and stiffer than the schlappen feather.
CWhite coque has become very expensive so we offer an alternative, bleached coque. The color on this boa is a beautiful beige color that comes from bleaching or degrading the bronze coque feathers and the tips are dyed a dark brown. It is a great money saver.
The tipped boas unique look comes from a two step dyeing process that leaves the inside of the boa one color and the tips another.
Coque boas can be cut with wire cutters without unraveling as feathers are sewn onto a nylon cord and cotton-covered wire. This cotton-covered wire helps the boa keep its shape and not come untwisted, which enables it to be used as a "Rental" boa.
