The Schlappen boas are 2 yards (6 ft) long, and approx 6-7" diameter. This boa is made from white schlappen feathers located at the base of the tail of the Rooster. Schlappen feathers are soft and flexible, but wider than the saddle feathers, and the stem is thinner than coque feathers giving it more of a drooping effect.

Although we stock this boa only in white, the unique bright white coloration lends itself to dyeing vibrant colors.

Schlappen boas can be cut with wire cutters without unraveling as feathers are sewn onto a nylon cord and cotton-covered wire. This cotton-covered wire helps the boa keep its shape and not come untwisted, which enables it to be used as a "Rental" boa. This product is part of our Fancy Boas category.
